Why Be A Perfectionist?

“Perfectionist” is a big claim. Here’s Why It’s True.

I truly believe my puppies are the ultimate family companion dog. I have dedicated myself to perfecting every aspect of these puppies lives to produce the healthiest, happiest, most adaptable puppies possible. I don’t just try to produce the cutest puppies, I start with the best genetics and strive to provide the perfect environment for them to flourish.

Physical Health

The finest recipe can only work with the finest ingredients. My mothers and fathers receive intensive genetic testing and routine checks against ocular, cardiovascular, and orthopedic standards. I have the advantage of having developed this line over decades, and thus I know personally the pedigree going back generations.

I am blessed to be within an hour of one of the premier teaching veterinary schools in the country. All dams and sires receive the absolute best possible healthcare from preconception to a long, happy retirement as one of my best friends.

All of our dogs live as beloved pets and family members.

Mental Enrichment

I have speakers playing gentle music, lectures, and a variety of other auditory soundscapes for all our dogs for when they are relaxing.

I have founded the Puppy Pal Reading Program, a program in our local schools where 1st graders read books to my dogs and puppies. This helps them develop the attention span and intuitiveness that makes Perfectionist Puppies truly the ultimate family companion animals.

Socialization and Adaptability

The best bred and trained dogs can’t function in a family if they are not adaptable - life today simply moves too fast. Every day, my puppies complete exercises that help them deal with the unexpected. We start with solo rides in the side by side with the puppy in my puppy sling - this gets them used to strange noises and car rides. We do pack hierarchy training, where I touch every part of every puppy - this trains them to not be surprised when a child gives them a surprise hug; they learn that touch is not something to be scared or startled by. By the time you get your puppy, they are able to adapt to almost any situation calmly.
