Every day, my puppies complete exercises that help them deal with the unexpected. We start with solo rides in the side by side with the puppy in my puppy sling - this gets them used to strange noises and car rides. We do pack hierarchy training, where I touch every part of every puppy - this trains them to not be surprised when a child gives them a surprise hug; they learn that touch is not something to be scared or startled by. However, only so much can be done in the few weeks I have them before they go to their forever homes. For families wishing for more hands on training, we offer our Foundations Program. Foundations is just that: an intensive program of one on one training focused on building a foundation of adaptability, sociability and emotional intelligence. We focus less during this time on “tricks” such as “roll over” and “fetch”, and much more on the puppy learning how to learn. Each puppy receives daily one on one training during which we focus on socialization and basic obedience, dominance/pack hierarchy, communication with the rest of the family, den training, etc. At the end of its time in our Foundations Program, your puppy will be even further equipped to fit right into any lifestyle, and to roll with the surprises that life throws at all of us. Because each Foundation student receives so much one on one attention and training, space is limited.
